Why iPhones Don't Have a Pattern Lock

Pattern unlock is one of the most often used security measures on Android. wherein users can unlock a device by swiping across the screen in a pattern that has been pre-configured. Why hasn't Apple added the pattern unlock feature to iOS since the majority of people find it easier than entering a 4 or 6-digit passcode like on the iPhone? Security is the answer, of course.
