It's interesting to see that both games developed by microsoft (forza, flight simulator) are performing exactly the same on both systems while all the others tend to have a slight difference

This is the vid I was looking for! Great work, Testing!

...I would just like to point out to the viewers that for smooth games without stuttering, the important data is Low 0.1% and not the average fps. For the smallest possible feeling of input lag, the important data is the time in milliseconds for which the image is rendered and remains on the screen.

Important to note that these differences will likely be more drastic on lower end hardware. I would be more interested to see comparisons on a more midrange system.

Have you made sure that there were no updates running in background?

The only difference may be in some background process that you cannot control while you play, otherwise they are the same because the base is the same

Can you also try Win 10 LTSC gaming performance? It is the most lightweight version, free of bloatware and other stuff that consume hardware in background.

Do you think it would be the same gap on mid tier hardware or worse? Because the huge processing power can make it either feel more different than it is or better.

I think more important than the averages are those lows... some places it can be almost half of Win10 and fluctuating to catch up while 10 just pretty much stays solid til Horizon.

Is this with HAGS (hardware accelerated GPU scheduling) on or off? I noticed improved FPS with it on using an RTX 4090. Before on my RTX 3080 I had it turned off as it breaks (or at least used to break) reprojection on windows mixed reality (VR). But now with the 4090 I do not need the reprojection anymore anyhow.

Is the FPS Counter on screen just a summary added in post, or is that an actual FPS counter like in Afterburner? If so, which one is it?

Installed Win 11 after upgrading from an 8700K to a 13600K, It's not as bad as I expected but you know the internet can exaggerate things, but fair to say Win 11 has gone through a lot of updates & fixes since its launch.

i just upgrade to windows 11, and when i test my cpu on cinebench r23, the multi score drop from 7600 to 6600 (i3 12100F)

You'd better have a little lower average FPS than a higher one with bigger fluctuations. The FPS stability is the key.

Upgraded to a 5800X3D and 6950XT decided to try win11. Honestly not that bad, I haven't had any of the strange bugs people talk about, but I also keep all of my drivers and BIOS updated. It takes some getting used to and customization to get it to feel more familiar but once you do it's honestly pretty decent

Got an AMD version that doesn't need the better scheduling for P/E cores in 11?
