You can see difference in phone vs cam bcoz of focal length use in the camera, has narrower background and adjustable aperture that gives pretty smooth out of focus/bokeh bg than the phone.

What I find crazy is that I see photographers for weddings and a lot of their footage are done with smartphones and the end result with editing looks top class. It's mental how far camera quality has come on phones.

Just small thing for comparing with camera - please try next time with same focal length. Vivo is around 23mm, and lens from the camera looks more like 35. Anyways, great material. :)

I've seen the camera's photo quality from GSMArena review. The ZEISS mode is an absolute peach. It's way more natural and realistic than the standard mode. Even the Dimensity 9200 chipset is a worthy fighter to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, especially for the GPU. Definitely in my wish list.

I'd like to see someone do a technical analysis of the camera because from some of those pictures it looks like the lens may have a significant field curvature problem - and if so, it will drive some people crazy

To compare a diffrent camera/lens should match the setting it used. eg shutter speed, aperture etc

the shallow depth of field is an advantage, not a disadvantage for photographers like myself who are used to working with big aperture lenses. This is the sort of breakthrough in phone camera technology that we have been waiting for, and one of the main reasons I am not tempted by the S23U. Well done Vivo, but shame on you for keeping the x90 pro+ China exclusive!!!

6:55 I'm much less concerned with the background blur and much more by how overexposed it is compared to the real camera. It looks washed out by comparison, I wonder how it'd look in pro mode so it's equally exposed. Very interested in this phone for the 2x zoom, I can actually use that indoors. 3x and 4x are useless to me, they're not far enough for outside, but too far for inside. I hate them. The 10x on the Samsungs was great but they never took it seriously enough to do good optics for it (microscopic sensor, very dark aperture).

2:26 the blur has to be there, it's a positive thing if you know to use it and the main advantage of a big sensor.
it's an awesome phone camera but it can't beat an actual camera mainly due to the missing objective zoom capability.
on my canon g5x2 i can use the 1" sensor even when i zoom in, which results in a crazy looking bokeh.
