Are you now considering commemorative coins? What did you learn from the video? What did you like or dislike?

Very well done! Straight to the point, not a bunch of jiberish.

Sir, you are extremely informative and always get me excited about gold. I've started out with silver, and will continue to stack silver but after watching your channel I'm definitely going to start stacking fractional gold as well.

Scottsdale mint has Barbados Tridents for a 3.5 percent premium. I picked one up today. 😁

Very interesting. Is frustrating how most people only talk or even show the most “desirable “ coins. The way I see is that even the most simple, less desired coin is already a masterpiece ( it came from underground and it was transformed into a beautiful gold bullion).
Thank you for opening my eyes. I will definitely add those to my arsenal.

Found your channel earlier while just browsing through YouTube. Great content for a stacker like me...and i see a few familiar faces out here. Hello Stackers!

My local LCS sells fractional foreign gold coins for 5% over melt/spot. I’ve been getting a good variety of unique coins which add interest to my gold stack.

Most of my fractional gold coins are these commemorative coins. I have been buying them for a couple of years now due to their low premium. Most of the ones I have purchased even came in capsules. SD Bullion has had sales in the past on the $5 and $10 (0.24 oz and 0.48 oz) gold coins similar to the one when you purchased your 1 oz coin. It is a shame that I lost them all in a boating accident.

I like to know the actual gold weight in grams

I've bought a few of the "quarter ounce" size of late. Curious how you feel about these now, a year later. Hope you'll revisit in a video.

One of my LCS's carries commemorative $5 gold coins with pretty low premiums.
My other one sells his foreigh mint gold ozs just as cheap.
It's a good area, I'm lucky.

Downloaded you spreadsheets. Plz check the formula on the % Prem line. It appears that you are dividing the premium by the total spent on the coin not the spot.

My LCS actually took in a couple of commemorative Olympic gold coins, and offered them to me. But they were .24, and just the challenge of calculating in my head. The potential premium percentage was too much of a challenge. So I just bought a 10 ounce silver bar, lol. Going to re-listened to this a couple of times and find that spreadsheet and maybe go back and see if they are still there :-)

Great video as always. I’ll buy any kind of gold if I can find it. Getting real tough at the LCS. Just to let you know I have taken a couple things that you suggested to heart, and I’m working on it. Thank you.

Great video I am guilty of not considering fractional/whole ounce commemorative coins. The only 2 I have came with the 2018 Breast Cancer awareness set. Unfortunately it was not a big seller from the mint. There is also not a lot of "chatter" from other stacking channels on commemoratives . Mark Twain looks nice and the price was just right. . Will be keeping an eye out now for the medals as well other fractional coins from other countries. Thanks

Nah, I don't dig the commemoratives. Not at all. Part of the problem is purity. The other is liquidity. The vast majority of LCS's are going to offer you little for them. What doesn't sell or have demand is worth little to them. Selling person to person, same deal. No one wants it.

Honestly, I think you need to go around to your local LCS's and ask about your commemoratives. And bear in mind, metals have a BIG demand now. Bet you will find few of them wanting your Twain coin. If they do, they are going to offer probably 10+% under spot.
