I use gopros to record pov dirtbike racing. 90 mim races. I switched to dji after owning several gopros. The last few years of gopro drove me crazy with overheating issues or just simply crashing while recording. I didnt feel the premium pricing translated well to the cameras. All i needed was 90mins of 1080p @ 60fps. Dji action 4 (and 3) just kills it for this use case. You reminded me that I was always charging my gopro batteries right before I jumped on my bike because the damn things wouldnt hold a charge!

That Redbull partnership gets them simply the best most innovative content out there.

I strongly considered an 11 but ultimately went with the DJI Action 3, I've since also bought an Osmo Pocket 3. I didn't like having to buy the media mod just to get an external mic to work and I also heard about the battery issues. I'm not into extreme sports so the DJI at the lower price, with a better mount and more innovation seemed like all I needed. 

I think GoPro can get by on their brand identity for a while, but without some serious competing on features and price it's going to have big problems soon. There is a parallel with Apple, GoPro also does annual, iterative releases that rest heavily on their past laurels. But Apple has a diverse product line that features the premium option in each market category and the ecosystem has locked in a total of more than 2 billion active devices. GoPro doesn't have that luxury, the competition has already caught up and will probably leapfrog them in value and features this year (if they haven't already).

got a gopro hero 7 white and an evolio 4k+ (years before the hero 7), and for a month i do want to switch to action 4, because i got tired of finding my camera recording only 1/4 of my adventures due to random freezing, or overheating, or software that isn't stable enough and ends up corrupting the video, or dead battery. I will go for the adventure pack in the next days

Their firmware has always been garbage but lions are stuck with gopros as long as the new ones keep using the same battery. Once they change batteries, it's DJI.

I got a pair of hero 12's. I like the software features, but i really dislike how quickly the battery gets drained. For more of a "workshop" usecase, i think the osmo pocket 3 is waaayy more usefull. Much longer battery life, fancy gimball features etc.

Great video! We recently had trouble with our newly purchased batteries overheating and dying, causing our cameras to get hot and shut off! We were very disappointed because we use them to create videos for our channel!

They really have dropped the ball on several things and are not taking chances to innovate which is exactly how legacy brands go out of business.

Gopro still has the corner on brand recognation. No other action camera has that, currently anyway. I think the other brands are doing better with viral marketing. They give tons of camers away to content creaters. If gopro does that its only to the big channels. Look at the gopro max. They just sat on it and now insta360 is the standard for 360 cameras.

GoPro all the way for me. Personally I have never been one for Chinese cheater brands. Knock offs of an original. I prefer the tried and true that defined the category, GoPro. I upgraded from the 10 to the 12. Love them both! GoPro subscription with editing tools is unmatched by the facsimiles. GoPro has a large patent catalog that should continue to bear amazing new tech. The cheater brands will fade away as fast as they came in scene. Insta360 is already violating numerous GoPro patents that will end their business model of theft soon. Leave with the girl you brought to the dance. GoPro or go home!!

Got my self a Dji osmo action 4 a few days ago, and sold all my gopros cheap. Got fed up with all the usual gopro problems 🤮🤮The osmo 4 takes about 30min to charge and i can use it all day with no issues. Unless gopro comes out with a killer upgraded camera that actually works as intended and is cheaper than the competition, i will never buy another gopro ever again.

I'd be happy if Gopro would change their wanna'be Apple packaging / no return packaging to a simple box with real flaps that doesn't require the skills of a brain surgeon to open. I just bought a 12. All of the packaging torn off in pieces. All of it. I couldn't even cut my way in without going into contortions to get the box open. This has been true for a long time with Gopro. I get it, people are stealing your product in the store. Maybe that's a comment on the price?
