Relative Minor Keys - 3 Easy Ways to Find Them

Every major key has a parallel minor key, and every major key has a relative minor key. Parallel and relative minor refer to the key of a natural minor scale or minor scale. Harmonic minor and melodic minor are variations of the natural minor scale.

In the video, the first half of the song uses the A minor scale with the G natural. The second half raises the seventh to G# changing the feel a bit to be more intense.

Since the natural minor scale comes from the major scale, the harmony of the relative minor scale is considered major scale harmony. The raised seventh note changes the overall harmony of the harmonic minor scale, making it very unique sounding and different from the major scale.
