This song has such a deep meaning. The girl seems to have been in an abusive relationship while all this guy can do is stand by and watch. The water fountain could be a metaphor for her innocence or their memories. The memories that are slightly damaged by everything. When the writer says that their not standing next to it anymore it's because their creating new ones.

i just had a music video idea and i’m planning on making it.


i’m imagining a boy, falling in love with a girl, and they were inseparable. he completely thought that she loved him, and he was preparing to ask her out.

the song starts with them hanging out at a water fountain in a park, and she was explaining that she felt really happy with him, and all.
she explains this:

“i have a new crush..he’s super cute and makes me happy, ”
and she would be seemingly excited. the boy thought it was him.
then behind the boy, steps in the real crush. she points to the real crush, waves goodbye to the boy, and the real crush and the girl walk away together.
the scene ends with the boy looking off in the distance, at them holding hands.

next scene, he storms into his bedroom and he stares at his desk, which had a big sign on it and flowers. it was his proposal to her, to ask her out.
he runs up to the desk, slams his hands down on the poster and starts crying.

next scene, from the window, he’s falling asleep. he sees him and the girl together, and he’s happy.
then he wakes up, and he’s alone.
he looks at his phone to see a text from the girl:

“ GUESS WHO’S TAKEN!!! “

then the song ends.
