Ukrainian call title another: Танюша (Tanyusha)

"Katyusha" (Russian: Катюша) is a Soviet Union folk song. It was composed by Matvey Blanter in 1938, and gained fame during World War II as a patriotic song, inspiring the population to serve and defend their land in the war effort. In Russia, the song was still popular as of 1995. The song is the source of the nickname of the BM-8, BM-13, and BM-31 "Katyusha" rocket launchers that were used by the Red Army in World War II.

I really like the lyrics in Ukrainian, I just wish the background music was instrumental. I understand a bit of Ukrainian so I'll probably be able to sing this myself someday, it's nice. Thanks for digging this up from wherever this came from, probably somewhere in mother Ukraine

3/5/22 playing it to everyone. The song from old Tsar Russia, associated with the rocket truck that turned the tide. When backed against the wall the reserves, workers and civilians made a partisan weapon to rain hell on Nazis. Played on the radio in Ukraine from 1942 it inspired the people to rise up and kick the Nazis out. How fitting it became part of their national songs.

So that never again Ukraine/Mother hear no more the cannonade of guns.

I have a question. In Russian lyrics the name was originally Katyusha, and Katyusha in Ukraine is Katrusya. Why here in this song the name is renamed as Tanya? Tanya and Katyusha are diminutive of different names, is it? Katyusha is for Ekaterina, and Tanya is for Tatyana. Is Tatyana and Ekaterina the same?
