Florida Hospital Kissimmee Previews New Tower

Florida Hospital Kissimmee gave a sneak peek of its new patient tower to local media today.
The new tower includes 80 beds, all in private rooms. This marks the first time that private rooms will be an option for patients at Florida Hospital Kissimmee. The private rooms include spacious family areas, which allow family members to comfortably stay with their loved ones.
In addition the new tower includes a gift shop and Cocina 8, a Latin-themed cafeteria, as well as a chapel and healing garden.
The completion of the tower caps 18 months of construction. But planning of the tower goes back about a decade, Villanueva said. The tower is part of a multi-phase expansion at Florida Hospital Kissimmee. The next phase involves an extensive renovation of the existing hospital.
Kissimmee Mayor Jim Swan noted that the hospital has been an important part of the community for more than four decades.
