Thank you so much for this tip! It worked like a charm. I'm now using a Synology NAS sitting behind a tough firewall at work as backup target for Hyperbackup. My backups are automatically encrypted before sending off, and I don't have to pay for any cloudstorage to have it all backed up.

I was able to set up a connection but hyperbackup kept refusing to connect. Will have a loo at your tailscale video on this and hopefully it will fix my issue

Thanks great video but just a small question. When you try to connect by snapshot replication you are using vpn ip for destination nas. Looks like it's default ip for the each openvpn, in this case it can be cause any issue? so maybe a lot of users using same ip (as default) Sorry, i'm not too good with this vpn topics :)

So basically this method requires owning a (paid) domain? It would have been useful to state it upfront for those who want a solution without the need for a long-term investment.
