SPEAKER BLOWOUTS! - VELODYNE EQ-.MAX Subwoofer

Fresh out of the box and into my destructive paws this super fancy 12 inch powered subwoofer gets trashed, I see what it takes to blow the driver in this Velodyne EQ-Max 12 - A long time greatly reviewed sub that nearly survived my torture tests! These video clips were on a camera card that I had lost... I even forgot I did this

"450 watt dynamic amplifier and down-firing port go as low as 25 Hz while output up to 135 Hz at 3dB" --- Yeah this thing was LOUD

People need to look at these videos from another angle. It took mains power to kill it, and even then it didn't blow immediately. This is obviously a well made driver, the manufacturer should love this for showing how much abuse it takes!

I've got a Velodyne Digital Drive 12 with servo controller and has remote control and microphone, I bought it third hand. the driver still hits like a truck after two decades. the whole cabinet has been dropped, the amp has been replaced then repaired but the driver is indeed indestructible. the surround is super thick and rigid, it's like touching a car tire. the force that the coil must have to move that cone is indeed impressive

I also have a Velodine 10 powered sub and I love it it's a beast, I've been hammering on it for a few years now and it still sounds good.

Velodyne subs are very robust. However, some of the older plate amps were not :-(

That thing lasted longer than most PA subs on the outlet! There's going to be a point where newer speakers will need more than 120~ to blow! Ha

Wow. That thing costs 900 euros! I'm a bit of a snob, and I only like Servo woofers. Still I regret that you couldn't find someone to appreciate this thing for years to come
