The Z2300 was actually one of the best pc speakers ever made. Nice thick housing, a center tapped toroidal transformer, class AB amplifier and a big 8" long-throw driver. Don't hate on a brand, hate on the type of speakers they make. The successor (z623) is cutting cost but is still way beyond other speakers in the price range.

I have a Z-5500, I am thinking in replacing the satellites. Do you think that the Polk TL-250 is a good set of satellites?

My nose hurts now from the water I just shot out of it when the bass just got to be too much. That was just too much for my funny-meter, I had an overload and now I am going to have a perpetual smile for a while, damn you Logitech for being the perfect punching bag of audio...

While I agree that most of logitech's speakers aren't fantastic, the drivers they use aren't actually that bad. The woofer, for example, in a custom box with a different amplifier doesn't sound that bad. This video is a bit over the top I might add, and I'm saying that from the point of view of someone who's been watching Garret's videos for years.

Just my two cents, thats all..

i have 2 sets of speakers from logitech. the z-2300 and z-623 . no problems with them at all . fully working and going strong :)

what kind of amp is the sub hooked up to? from the look of that amp that sub should have hit the ceiling once it started clipping.

And then there's other thing... In the past we used to pay hundreds of euros for just a crappy speakers.

Now most people buy like a Logitech 2.1 for 50€ and they are quite enough for a small room PC.

Then most Hi-Fi speakers will never be good on gaming (unless it has a subwoofer).


ps: They are not high quality, but they are also pretty damn cheap, and aren't that bad either. And can give a sense of more power than lot's of 2x 50w stereo's because of the subwoofer.
