Scandal stopped wearing the school girl uniforms sometime after their second album Temptation box was released in 2010 after their youngest member the Drummer Rina graduated high school. ... The concert this performance is from was held in early 2016 after returning to Japan from their world tour in 2015 for their 6th album Hello World. The song itself is from their very first album "Best Scandal"

This is the song that got me into Scandal. I saw them in May 2024. They were amazing! Love this version of this song. The little dance they did was in their original music video.

They are actually hugely popular in Japan and sell out arenas. They've also been together for 18 years now still with the entire original lineup intact (quite a feat actually). They actually were still in high school when they formed in 2006 which is why they wore the school girl outfits (the originals were their actual school uniforms), but they dropped the uniforms somewhere between 2009 and 2012, initially going with some really outlandish outfits, but since the mid to late 2010s they mostly just wear normal(ish) clothes, similar to what you saw here. They also stopped wearing their hair all the same style around the same time they dropped the school uniforms.
