Exige S Water Methanol Injection Testing

Показать описание
Results from hot weather testing of Water Methanol Injection on Exige S. Temperatures measured using thermocouples inserted underneath intercooler piping connection hose, both pre and post intercooler. This avoids placing the thermocouple into the airstream and getting a wetted thermocouple that gives artificially low temperatures, which I think happens a lot when WMI testing results are presented.
First three graphs show absolute temperatures, next three graphs show temperatures above ambient.
Day was hot and low humidity, ranging from 28 - 33 dec C.
All tests performed over 3 laps at Barbagallo Raceway to simulate a typical 3 lap supersprint event.
Results show that 300 ml/min is suitable for most instances, though swapping to 500 ml/min does provide measureable benefit on hot dry days at least. There was some bogging occasionally when changing gears when using 500 ml/min nozzle, indicating this is about the practical limit for injection rate.

Awesome, pre-compressor is the way to go with WMI. You can then do it with a completely mechanical system if desired. Crazy how few people do this, despite well-known benefits

Hello, very interesting results from the testing. I have the same car and considering to use water injection to lower IAT. May I ask, what WM ratio did you use and where exactly the nozzle is installed? Also do you have original or improved intercooler? Thanks, Radek
