Iron Maiden 'Fear of the Dark' REACTION & ANALYSIS by Vocal Coach / Opera Singer

It's been a while since we've done some Iron Maiden on this channel, so it's time to bring Bruce Dickinson back for more analysis. I asked our Patrons what song should be next up, and they all voted for "Fear of the Dark." I think I'm ready for more #horsestance!

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Iron Maiden performing "Fear of the Dark” live on the Death On The Road tour. (Yes, I know Flight 666 has better quality and energy, but the vocals are difficult to analyze. I tested a few seconds before I filmed, and we decided on this version. I review the Flight 666 version BEFORE my outro, so will still see it!)

I don't like to tell people that they "need" to hear or see something, but you really need to see and hear the Iron Maiden performance of "Dance of Death" from En Vivo. It's the most over the top exaggerated performance I've ever seen Bruce give.

One thing you have to remember about Iron Maiden, Elizabeth, is that they don't play TO an audience, they play WITH the audience. I don't think anyone came away from an Iron Maiden concert without a feeling they were part of the band that night in the last 35 years of playing concerts. Every member of the band is a showman.

Bruce is the best showman in music. He is constantly running around the stage, never misses a note, and has multiple outfit changes.

Plus he flies the damn plane😂

I kinda prefer the Rock in Rio 2001 version - Bruce yelling "I CAN'T HEAR YOU" at the MASSIVE crowd all screaming along is hilarious.

Fear of the Dark is an unbeatable masterpiece. All live versions are great, but the studio version from the album is something else. Up the Irons! 🤟🏻🇬🇧

When they went to Venzuela in 2009, Bruce jumped from the second level of the stage did a split mid air landed and continue to sing, it was amazing to see that and he was 51 at the time!

You know your band is great when your audience sings along to the guitar and the solos.

I've said it before, I'm saying it again and I'll probably say a lot of times to come, but your enthusiasm when your reviewing metal songs is just so enjoyable to watch. this song from the rock in rio show is what got me into maiden and it's always great to see the excitement you show during these.

Love the almost childlike wonder of discovery, and the breakdown of the song by a ‘non’ Maiden fan is priceless. Plus she’s a little cutie🙂

I have to say that Fear of the Dark from Rock in Rio is by far the best performance on video. Crowd participation, Bruce’s vocals, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith solos and the drumming of Nicko. Just an outstanding performance.

Fear of the Dark is like Holy Diver, most famous song but not the best. If you want appreciate Bruce not only in vocals but in composition, Revelations (was the first song written for Iron Maiden), it is a masterpiece and of course have a fantastic performance by Bruce.

Do Blood Brothers at Rock in Rio as next Maiden song, you will not regret it :)

Bruce has stated that he makes exaggerated movements in an effort to be more visibly present for the people seated far from the stage. It also must be noted the relationship between the band and the fans in Rock n Roll and heavy metal. It is a trade off of power. Bands have talked about this energy exchange. As fans at the event, we feel it and we give back. If you are an emotional person, it might make you tear up to feel it.
