This is the first version I ever listened to of Fear Of The Dark. I remember seeing this video on Headbanger's Ball back when it first came out and loved it big time. I was a teenager at 14 years old and Iron Maiden had already been my all time favorite band for over five years. I had recorded this video on a VHS tape and I would listen to it over and over. All these years later it is still my favorite version of Fear Of The Dark. My older sister still remembers this song because of how many times I used to play it back when we were both teenagers.

I am thankful for the security men who pulled me out of this crowd to safety. I had glandular fever and had been standing in the mosh pit for 10 hours by the time this song was played. I was crowd-surfed to safety and walked right in front of the band (but didn't look up). Cracking song, strange memories of that day!

My dad sent me this video, and said "that is how it was back in my day, when I was your age". He grew up in Soviet Lithuania, and was in the spetsnaz, eventually moving to Britain. He got married next door to where iron maiden formed.
