Buy 1 each month sounds great, but who can afford to buy each month a book like ASM 2? Buy what you like is better. I buy only from artists I like, Kirby, Jim and Jae Lee, Frank Miller, Gene Colan, David Mack and so on. So some of these books never will be very expensive, no problem, I will buy them cause I like them. My daughters will eventually find out if it has been a good investment :)

Good advice at the end. I speculated when I first got back into collecting as an adult... bought and sold a bunch for a loss... live and learn, but if you can learn from another's mistakes... that's the best way to do it

Man, your beautiful collection took me back to when I was a child. I had a lot of those, but gave them to my cousin. Daredevil no 1 was my first Marvel I purchased with my own cash.😀

Definitely an awesome/incredible collection. The two books he has that I don't have (I have full runs of ASM and Daredevil + working on X-Men) and would love to are the Tales 39 and Incredible Hulk #1. More than five years ago I passed on a Tales 39 at C2E2. It was a 5.0. The dealer added gave me an initial price cash and then raised it after talking to his partner. I didn't pull the trigger. I wish I would have. That book is 3X higher now than the price I was given. Like your friend said you have to think big. Buying a bunch of books doesn't add the value to your collection like the big boys do. More importantly the big books keeping going up and at a faster pace than the others books in a series if your a completionist like me.

Judging by that garage you're starting from a different position than most of us lol. But what a great collection, good for him. One day hopefully you'll show us the ungraded collection. Bet there's tons of great books. (And yes I'm jealous lol)
