I love trilobites because they are adorable

They may have been infrequent eaters but they loved to eat as much as we do.

Thank you for this video, I'm an older person 47. I've recently relit my interest in paleontology. The evolution of trilobites is very interesting.

Too bad none have survived today (that we know of). However, isopods and especially horseshoe crabs sure look alot like them.

It would not take very much to turn me into a Trilobite Nerd, I find the entire lineage interesting, and mysterious with no real descendants today, I guess the Horseshoe Crab is probably it's closest relative.

Trilobites still exist. I know where you can find them. When I was a kid I used to try to remove them from the stones they usually love to adhere to. Once they get adhered to a stone, they are extremely hard to separate from the stones! I even killed one one day, when I was trying to remove from the stone it was addered to, with a hammer and a knife. You touch their backs and they grab the stone with some sort of sucktion force. You can see their backs moving when their body holds tight to the stones. I didn't knew what was the creature at that time, didn't knew I was destroying a living fosil. I was only 7-8 years old. But I know exactly where you can still find living trilobites. The place is Puerto Rico, South West of the island, in a little riff area in the Guanica village. I can be more specific. If you need to know let me know I can bring you there and tell you exactly where you will find them. Also there is a little creature that looks like a small version of the Megalograptus or like a Jaekelopterus I saw also, but in a different beach. The creature is about 5-6 inches long, black and it can get out of the water to walk outside over the sand near the shore. Its very timid and tends to run back to the water when it see you. It is as fast as a large spider, perhaps. That one can be found in the Bokeron beach at the West of Puerto Rico. I don't know if its venomous. It kind of look like it can inject some nasty stuff, but perhaps is inofensive. I tried but I never had the opportunity to catch one, they are conssiderably fast. Especialy when they reach the water. My son saw it also and he still remeber the experience too.

This is the best presentation of the history and evolution of the trilobytes that I've seen on the web. Helped me plan on visiting the trilobyte dig by Topaz Mountain in south central Utah! Excellent narrative and visual presentation.
