Remove STUCK BIT from IMPACT driver!

This is a super short video of how to remove a stuck bit driver from an impact driver as well as how to remove a stuck bit from a bit holder.

Awesome. Hold and reverse worked to release the bit from the chuck. Previously I took it to a workshop and the charged me $50 - saying they had to disassemble the whole thing. (I bet they would have known this method and charged me like scoundrels.) This time I decide to disassemble myself, only to find it gets you nowhere. Then I found this video. Thank you so much. I wrapped a cloth around the chuck and gripped with vice grips. Worked a treat.

That was awesome! I had a drill with a bound up chuck so I used my impact driver to drill out a screw stuck in my car license plate a while back and the drill bit got stuck but I never thought of that because I would never grab a drill bit like that. Instead, I got my pliers and held the squared off base of the bit and this worked! Thanks!

I have had the same problem Irwin and Bosch bit holders. Not only lose the bit holder but also the bit. There seems to be a common design flaw among the manufacturers thar causes this problem.
