I have to say that I think the description of the thing in the first story is probably the most frightening one I've heard in any of these- Darkness or other- compilations.

I can't believe that second story! Leaving a young kid on his own, so worried about his own safety. Thank goodness the rangers found the boy, otherwise he may have ended up dead.
