The thing that works for me is breathing deep and using my exhales to push me further into the stretch. Yoga with Adriene has a lot of streching videos that are really good and help you make the breathing thing more intuitive

The splits was my quarantine goals. For like 3 months i hated stretching it was so painful so i took a few months off, then i started stretching more casually after running/leg days and that helped a tonnnn stretching on "warm" legs is like 1000% better. finally got them after like a year of stretching (probably like 4 months of dedicated 4X a week stretching) at some point i started liking it and it stopped hurting. Keep it up yall take a break if your legs are sore and tired of stretching.

The splits are super hard! I was a dancer for 7 years and it took me 5 years to get them completley. Don't give up!

Yes! Stretching in general is so important! Especially for mobility in your workouts and in your your daily day-to-day life! People often neglect it, which can lead to injury and reduced performance!

This came at just the right time!! I’ve always been naturally flexible but recently my back got injured and my range of motion kind of went with it😫. BUT ever since I started stretching for splits my mobility has started to increase and it feels amazing!!!

Natacha Oceane made a video about this and she recommended using chairs or other supports for your arms, and pillows for your groin area so you can sink into the stretch without relying on your arms to hold yourself up. I started doing that and was making great progress....but then i broke my kneecap :( looking forward to getting back to it once I get healed up.

Love this video! As a dancer, stretching and flexibility has impacted my life so positively in several ways!❤️ The only tip I have for you, is to give yourself some rest days. I agree that you should stretch regularly, but if you're doing intense stretches every single day that are quite straining to your body, your muscles will stiffen and it'll make your stretching more ineffective. I'm speaking purely from personal experiences, but I'm super inspired by your dedication! Keep being you love ❤️.

P.S (just a suggestion): could you make a video trying pilates workouts? I'd love to see your opinion on that.🎊✨

I just did a similar challenge and ALSO have it in my head that my muscularity has been my downfall all along when really it was my lack of consistency... *side-eyes myself* but more power to you for going for it! The pain is real!

Oh my god, yes!!! I'm really into fitness, been working out for years, and just started doing stretching to get my splits, as well, and yes girl, yes!!! I felt this video in my soul. I totally get all of this, all of it.

hey girl! I joined cheer late in my high school years and told myself I was going to get my splits down. I stretched everyday at least once and eventually got them months later. I know it's different for everyone but stretching made me feel accomplished, like I was treating my body. I still continue to stretch everyday, even though I am done with Cheer. I was also in gymnastics and competitive cheer in my past which could have helped influence my results. I would say to everyone who wants to get the splits just keep stretching and do your best! You got this💗

i’m proud of your split journey!! I got my splits like few years ago and my muscles were extremely tight as well so I have a little so called tip for you :) every day I do some normal leg stretches like the straight legs stretch (it’s really good for hemstrings!) and follow by a more complex stretch. Basically it’s like a quad hinge back but you lay your back all the way down the mat/ floor. It’s okay if you can’t lay your back on the floor the first few times, you can just pop on your elbows to make it easier. Hope you know what I mean and get your splits! 💓
