Great interview. Great in that John didn't interrupt him once; allowed him to complete his thoughts.

People think that these tariffs will be done across the board... they won't. Tariffs should be used as a tool to reach an objective. That's exactly what he used it for in his first term. Stop freaking out people

John Anderson is truly one of best journalists/ interviewer literally in the world… Ask a relevant and important question and let your guest speak their peace..Then let your audience decide for themselves what’s right and wrong or if the person being interviewed is lying or not…Other so called news agencies would do everyone a favor if they took note from Mr. Anderson .. Thank you Australia 🇦🇺 for defending free speech..

Speaking as an Australian, what Mr. Hanson said about Japan, Korea, Australia, and other US allies, feeling a sense of relief with President Trump behind the wheel, is spot on.
Who would have thought Trump would bring a sense of normality? Yet he most certainly does. It certainly feels, that now we have a chance to get the World back to a far more peaceful place.

Time of taking trade hit by tariffs relief for ally countries are over now. The era of providing unlimited aid is also over. At least trade should be fair with ally countries with a emphasis on manufacturing critical (tech medical etc) things must be largely shift & start in USA. To deal with labour requirements & costing, we need a proper supply chains, among ally countries. This is the only way forward for USA.

In my small rural town we've lost 5 major stores and are primarily dependent on Walmart and tnternet businesses. In Portland whole streets of buildings are vacant. In Appalachia and throughout the Southeast once thriving manufacturing plants have been closed for many decades.. There are even places in the US where you'd think you were in a 3rd world country. We should support GB and Israel, maybe some other very long term allies if they need it. But we need to bring manufacturing and business back home, end the long supply lines, and become independent. As VDH said, tariffs need to have parity. Charity begins at home.

Business owners become very nervous at the T word - Tariffs. If used correctly, tariffs will benefit Americans AND for those business people writhing in agony at the T word, call your State representatives after you all know how the tariffs will affect you. RELAX.

Top three that come to mind are; Canada, China and Mexico. And any other country that charges tariffs on our goods but don't want the USA to put tariffs on their goods.

When Nixon opened trade to China without restrictions, he was doing the bidding of greedy corporate interests. The American people never benefited from this outsourcing. Corporate costs went down 1000% and retail prices went down 50%, but in that bargain, our workers also lost their jobs! This has gutted the middle class. This also created a situation where American manufacturers who wanted to keep their production in the US could not do that. They literally could not compete with rivals who were sourcing in China. Fast forward 65 years and we see the results. The problem is, the solution is a 50 year recovery plan, not signing a huge tariff that throws a wrench into the gears of what we have. We cannot build factories, train workers, or develop the technical expertise over night. Smaller businesses are going to need financial help to make the transition. Penalizing American small business and it's citizens, through tariffs, for a situation created by big corporate greed and government collusion is going to be the final nail in the middle class coffin.

Does the words Smoot-Hawley act of 1930 ring a bell? We jacked up our tarrifs, and other countries did the same in response, leading to the collapse of international trade, and making the great depression much worse.

Part of the problem has been the lack of cooperation between business and labor. Workers make poorly thought out demands without considering business, and business also makes demands that only consider how much profit they make and not what workers need to live. Untill there is parity we will continue to see business leaving for a cheaper work force, and workers struggle to survive, as many do now. There must be cooperation between the two.

What kind of trades are unfair? Who can decide a trade is fair or not?
