So in the mcu they were friends they never had a romantic relationship ever because hawk eye was married and they worked on several missions for shield before joining the avengers and black widow is unable to feel completely in love with anyone aside from the original avengers ( hulk, banner, hawk eye, iron man, captain America, and thor) because she killed a bunch of people and feels very guilty about it and is worried that getting attached to someone will end up getting them killed so she felt the avengers as her family but not a romantic lover sure she had romantic scenes with all of them but she never really had a relationship + they never actually gave her a real lover and up until the end of endgame they almost forgot about him being married till they needed a reason for “ronin”
