Best spy movie, not counting any film noir spy thrillers....for me would have to be North By Northwest. Hitchcock's movie is the prototype for how to keep the audience at the edge of their seats. He was the master of film, not the master of suspense and North by Northwest proved it.

hear something most Young people don't know about Mission Impossible... Mission Impossible was a seven-year run TV series and did not have car chases gun fights and explosions every episode. it is a fun spy show we're the heroes get the villains to take themselves down.

Hold on.  You mean to tell me that freaking knife thing in MI2 was real ?   I had no idea . Tom Cruise is insane and crazy about his craft.  Much respect for that.  I also can't believe that a movie like Mission Impossible didn't not have a single gun shot . That is crazy. Hell, Roger Rabbit had gun shots in it.

It's one thing to do your own stunts. But that whole knife thing is a little too far. If I were the director I wouldn't have let that happen simply for keeping my employee safe. I don't care whether Cruise wanted it or not that's just too damn far.

It's hard to figure out what Charade, starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn is, but a good part of the time, it feels like a spy movie, and it's definitely among my top favorites.

I really wish the blu Ray for ghost protocol included the imax scenes in their expanded aspect ratio like the dark knight does. I love that effect!
