One of the worst things about RWBY is the fandom. Regardless of anything you critique about the series, a vocal part of the RWBY fandom will hate you for it. Here's why it's wrong and why it needs to change if RWBY is going to have any future.

Quick correction: the website about the cost of Waterworld was goldenglobes not golden globe awards. I apologize for that.

12:49-13:24 No wonder VIZ is radio silence on RWBY.

I just hope that VIZ media does a reboot of the series, tbh, a lot needs to be change, but they should keep the original formula that Monty had.

A Reboot would be the wisest desicion VIZ could make that this point. RWBY deserves better than what it has become now and Rebooting the franshise can be reforged from the ground up with better storytelling and a clearer vision.

the "future of rwby" buddy rooster teeth is gone. Monty was gone before RT was gone. im sorry its gone. on the plus side Ruby's VA has a streamer gig.

A reboot is necessary at this point. RWBY currently reads like a rough draft and probably should be treated as such. Keep what worked, discard what didn't, refine the story and repeat the process many times. Salem is one of those that I think did work even though they didn't give her an endgoal while the bumblebee ship is one of the ones that didn't work because it royally screwed with the group dynamic.

The RWBY fandom is definitely among the most toxic I've ever been around. I think part of this is because (In their desperation to maintain their perceived fanbase amidst a crumbling narrative) the writers basically gave all of the power to the "Shippers", who are almost ALWAYS super toxic. Look at how Bumblebee became a thing:

Yang and Blake's VAs make a joke at RTX about liking black and yellow so it was their favorite ship. Everyone laughs it off and despite it being the most popular of the ships for the Main 4, no one takes it too seriously, including the writers and VAs. Several years later, the show is faltering. Monty's passing left a hole in the show, and the writing AND anmation for Volume 4 took a serious hit. Volume 5 is even worse, with some scenes being flat out unfinished and the writing being the worst yet, with fans leaving in droves. The response from RT? "Well, Bumblebee is popular and it would earn us significant SJW brownie points on Twitter, let's just do that." It didn't matter that this DESTROYED both Sun AND Adam's characters. It didn't matter that there had been ZERO buildup to this in the previous 5 volumes. And it didn't matter that it went DIRECTLY AGAINST what Monty repeatedly and publicly stated about how he wanted Team RWBY to be portrayed ("They are all sisters.") None of that mattered. They went with what would get them a short term boost in engagement at the expense of the story they were trying to tell.

There is not a single creative company, whether they are worth $100 or $1 Billion, NO CREATIVE COMPANY can operate successfully with that kind of writing. Ask Disney. Ask Warner Bros.

More often than not a pushback to critique is due to tone or over abundances of high profile critiques that are more negative than positive you thoroughly address most of the negative responses to this in this video but you rarely if at all address the fact that most if not all conversations involving RWBY devolve into A. Yeah it's good but it could be better. or B. it messed up at these points and that ruined it all. what needs to change isn't the fandom it's the conversation surrounding the show if nothing but positivity dominates the conversation it becomes an Echo chamber which is what RWBY fans have resorted to creating due to the over all negative or negative leaning conversation tone that permeates the fandom which results in them having no tolerance to any Criticism much less honest or good intended Critiques of the show see where I'm going with this it's a viscous cycle over negativity created echo chambers which ripped away at their tolerance and acceptance for negativity which prevented a stable fandom from forming which now leaves us with a fandom constantly on the defensive from it's self and others does the fandom need to change to fix that? maybe. does that change my stance from earlier where I said it didn't need to? no. because I don't think it could if it even wanted to. to change the fandom your gonna have to start by changing how people talk about and defend the show you need to give them confidence in it other wise those old wounds won't heal the echo chambers will keep growing and the critics won't be heard at all for better or worse the RWBY fandom needs to heal and unite before it can ever hope to change.

I'm not trying to be a dick and you probably already know this, but you need a much better mic, sounds like a very bad phone recording.
