Hi kelly, i discovered your channel 2 years ago after watching a video on dehydrated skin. I’ve dealt with serious dehydrated skin for 2 years. My skin would get tight and oily after 2 hours, my skin looked very dull, and i had developed cystic acne. Not to mention, i became anti-social and unable to make eye contact with anyone including my family. I’ve watched many videos on dehydrated skin, spent a lot of money on different products just to try to fix my skin and nothing worked. This led me to fall into a dark place of hopelessness and i became very unhappy. But Just recently, I FINALLY managed to reverse the damage i’d done to my skin and my skin is finally looking healthy and No longer tight. Your product recommendations are the only products that have seemed to work really well with my skin. You’re a life saver, Thank you. Don’t ever stop making youtube content, you’re my go to for skincare. 🙌❤️

my body care tip is to use a gentler body wash, apply a rich lotion after towel-drying skin, and then use a homemade blend of oils (shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil) and then scoop some cocoa butter vaseline and thoroughly massage it all in! and for the face i use a gentle facial wash then cocktail jojoba oil with a thick moisturizer and apply on skin slightly wet!

Hi Kelly as someone with life long eczema, post menopausal skin and rosacea I can sympathise with dryness lol. I AM DRY - dry hair (course/curly), very dry/eczema prone scalp, very dry skin top to toe and even dry eyes due to rosacea. I live in Scotland so we get some harsh weather. A few tips are:

Don't be afraid to use a moisturiser aimed at the body on your face - I use them at night all the time eg Altruist 10% urea cream and LRP Lipikar.
Apply a layer of oil straight out of the shower to damp skin and then seal it in with a moisturiser.
Use cotton gloves and socks overnight to seal in any thick creams/balms on hands and feet
Use an AHA body lotion once or twice a week to thin that top layer of very dry skin and allow your other products to work better (I use the lactic acid based Ammeliorate), but please don't apply this to broken skin - wait until any eczema patch has healed first, otherwise ouch ouch ouch. Also using an AHA foot cream a couple of nights a week makes a big difference to the feet.
In between washing apply a scalp serum to very dry scalps when they feel dry/itchy. I use the ordinary scalp serum most evenings to moisturise the scalp. I'm not overly convinced it helps with growth (my hair grows quickly anyway), but it is soothing and moisturising on the scalp.
Use a cream with a high percentage of urea 20 to 30% on elbows, knees and feet a couple of times a week (I use a 30% cream from uriage), under your normal moisturiser.
Using a facial oil at night under your moisturiser and even a couple of drops added to your day cream can make a big difference to the skin in Winter.
You may need to apply body moisturiser twice a day - once after your shower and once at the other end of the day, especially to lower legs etc. That's ok - if your skin needs that then apply it. It doesn't take too long to top it up and can make a big difference in dry/itchy skin.

Best wishes.

I am 61 with dry & dehydrated skin. Oils are my best friend; so is petrolatum (Vaseline). I always apply oils & moisturizers on warm, damp skin (improves absorption). On my real dry skin, like the lower legs, I will apply a layer of Argan or Jojoba oil, then Cereve, then a light layer of vaseline. I also like balms…ex. Aveeno Cica Balm, Eucerin Roughness Relief with Urea, Aquaphor Ointment, and the LaRoche Posay B5 balm❤️

I love to use layers of hydrating or moisturizing toners, serums and moisturizers. This helps me keep my skin much more moisturized throughout the day.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who deals with the awful dryness. Serums and creams are my best friend right now and I am currently getting into korean skincare more and more and I love it!! I love winter time but not my skin flaking! Also love your videos ❤

Such a thorough video; thank you Kelly. I use the following from your list: Bioderma oil in the shower, Stratia LG and Illiyoon cream on my face; plus other hydrating and repairing products. Also, the humidifier has been running in our bedroom for at least two months - my skin, sinuses and houseplants love the improved atmosphere!

I live in Alaska. Our winters put other states to shame...lol. At 57, our long winters can wreak havoc on my mature (57) dry celtogermanic (thus prone to drier skin that ages faster) skin! I finally learned the art of layering skincare products in 2022 and OMG what a difference it has made in my skin! I used to have scaly skin under my nose (from blowing my nose a billion times a day especially in wintertime) that would NOT go away no matter what moisturizer I tried (Elemis, Proven, Peter Thomas Roth, Oil of Olay, etc).
Then I found La Mer of all things and believe it or not, their OG cream helped heal my skin. BUT this is before I had even heard of Korean skincare.

Korean skincare has been a GAME changer! What a difference it has made to start my skincare routine (I shower twice daily....after working out and right before bed) with several lusciously hydrating toner/essences to lock that moisture in! I'd say my skincare routine now consists of 60-75% Korean skincare products. I love their philosophy especially since winter skin problems in Alaska are nothing to joke about! My skin is hydrated and plump all day long.

Best lip care and I have tried tons is By Terry Baume De Rose. And Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask soothes and hydrates great. Just starting with Korean skincare now 🤗

Sometimes when I don't what to use a sleeping pack I use the pyunkang yul balancing gel and omg! The next day I have super hydrated plump skin! Sometimes I mix the gel with a little bit of a sleeping pack and works amazing too! It's been saving my skin this winter! Btw this was an amazing video Kelly!! I love your channel! ❤️

Aquaphor lip therapy contains beeswax, which I'm sensitized to, so I stick to the aquaphor original ointment too 😊. But as a night mask for my hands I reach for the cerave healing ointment. More is more 😜
