I remember watching the launch on TV. I was 12 yrs old and I recorded the audio from the TV loudspeaker onto my little cassette tape-recorder. I then listened to the recording maybe hundreds of times. So fun to watch it again after more than 50 years. Thanks.

This is important for history, I just wanted to put that out there, the processing and conversion of this media is a true history tale in its own. We owe our thanks to you and the people who complied the originals. Thank you!!!

Once again a big thank you for posting these videos. We know it is a lot of hard work, but you can be sure that your efforts are greatly appreciated. Especially by those of us who are as much space enthusiastic as you are, but who also had the privilege of growing up on the 1960s and were eye-witnesses to all of these fantastic missions. Your videos collections are priceless. They bring back to life priceless memories.

Every updgrade on the Apollo Missions documentaries' Series adds so much more than the previous ones....Really enjoyed the use of multiple camera angles and interview inserts all tied together with the timeline indicator along the bottom of the screen....😎

The fruits of a yeoman’s effort once more, LM5. The timeline graphics you’ve come up with could almost convince me that we’re watching something happening today!

Brilliant work

Always good to hear Al Shepard's voice from space.

Technical question: around 9:05 Kennedy Launch Control mentions that now that the access arm has been retrated to the standby position, the pyrotechnics have been activated to allow the launch escape tower to operate in case of a critical emergency. However, what is there was a critical emergency prior to this point (ie rupture or explosion of the Saturn). They'd never have time to get to the escape arm. So would there be no way out? Or do they ensure the system is entirely safe up to that point (i.e., not loading oxidiser or fuel whatsoever until the LES is active?)

What had occurred which prompted the reporter's questions about NASA needing to increase security? The NASA response included issuing new ID badges, and other changes. Apparently, some incident was the cause, but I have no recollection of that.

Ed Mitchell later said that during the launch hold, he took a nap. They were caught up in the check list and there was nothing else to do

30:27 Alan Shepard was a super human :-)
Walter Cronkite pointed out Shepard's low spaceflight hours, but didn't emphasize his influence as one of the managers, although he could be quite temperamental.

38:49 with age comes experience. Kinda useful for a commander 240, 000 miles from home.
