For context roys legs were gone. He was probably only still at the club because of what he done in the past. He was even relegated to cb to see if utd could prolong his career. Got destroyed at wolves.

Fergie knew it roy the player was done, didnt need to put up with his attitude. Had roy been 26 they would have worked it out

It's sad that he was released but football needs captain like him, Cantona and Carlos Puyol

No one is bigger then Utd. SAF is a legend and 🐐 manager

It’s why he was soo successful. Having the strength & stomach to make the heartbreaking decisions. No remorse just keep moving forward. Yeah it’s a loss but we move on 💪 respect Fergie he was a class act kept the club running smoothly everyone giving 100%

When Manager was still the boss. Now players are the bosses.

He had to make the tough decisions & he did… after Keane left United did 3 league titles in a row & won the CL… it’s a shame it ended like it did but Ferguson had to maintain control of the dressing room.

I listened to that analysis back then. Keane was accurate, but he definitely should have been disapassioante and less egotistical.
Keane was speaking like he was the manager, as if he could do what Sir Alex does.
As we can now see, he can't do what Sir Alex does.

Did Alex ferguson really say: "My man is done."?

Ruud Van Nistlerooy: "Yah get meh fam?"

Not to say Keane was right, but his job was to do game analysis and if he thought criticism was fit, then that’s part of the analysis. SAA with a major power trip.

Fergie could have let this go. Roy keane was us. He was you and me on the pitch. Give 100% and we will support you.

Fergie was only able to do that because he knew Keane was well past his prime

Man the Gaffer did not play with anyone. Scholsey was his only favourite.

It maybe not only after that incident but what had happened between two in those confined room that had alters the relationship in more negative way

Ten Hag was crucified for doing the same to CR7, for having a back bone, no player is bigger than the coach and club❤

He wanted Keane out, and this was his perfect excuse

You can't let stuff like that go. If you're really the leader of the team, you can't have someone else pipe up and undermine your authority. Lex was not afraid of giving people the boot if they got out of line.

I think fergie had likely realised it was already time to send Roy on, this just gave him an excuse

No player is bigger than the club. And SAF always sticked to his words.
