I was well prepared even before I went to bed. My water bladder was filled up, my packed lunch was made and I slept in the clothes I was going to be wearing.
I left the camp site at 7am and made it to the youth hostel for 7.12am I was ready for the steep climb ahead !!
I knew it was going to be a challenging climb but also very doable. I just had to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep going until I got to the top! Simple!!
Lots of steps, lots of climbing and lots of switch backs. But it was a stunning walk up. I had great weather and great views.
I really enjoyed looking back across to where I walked over on the West Highland Way and it was cool to look down on the camp site and try and spot my tent!
I started pretty early so there were not that many people out and about. But later on it really did get very busy!
What made the trip super special was getting to meet Sabrina Pace-Humphrey on the summit!!! I saw her pink @inov_8 jacket and knew it was her and shouted out her name. It was fantastic getting to meet in real life- I felt like I already knew her. 😀
I walked with her back to the summit and took some pics and video. Before heading back down as I was starting to get cold! 🥶
The descent was pretty intense l was moving quickly as I could as I wanted to get out of the mist and the fog layer and get warm!!!
At the waterfall on the way down. I decided to take the route going down left, as that seemed a lot quieter with less people on it. No one else did that route apart from 2 other people ahead of me. It was a quick, easy descent.
I was wiped in the afternoon and needed a little power nap!!! 💤
