You have great determination, enthusiasm and passion. A year on I'm sure you now have better kit and more experience. I'm glad you made it.

When climbing mountains, please ensure you bring proper equipment. Mountaineering clothes come with ratings for a reason, make sure that you plan your journey properly so you're not surprised by the weather when scaling the mountain. It seemed in this instance that you were woefully unprepared. When those climbers told you not to proceed up the mountain you should have listened, you are lucky to be alive.

Are you sure that's the top? Where is the memorial and shelter (Hut) at the summit? You took a huge risk wearing improper clothing. If you had got lost it would have been certain death.

When you reached the lochan half way up, and based on what other climbers were telling you, you should have turned back at that point. To continue on those conditions, and given that you were already cold and wet, I am surprised you survived. However, I and glad you did make it and I hope you took away with you some experience of when to turn back. We rescued an Indian lady and her husband many years ago on holiday. It was summer time and they were in sandals. It was 3.30am before we go them down to safety. There were both suffering from hypothermia and there feet were torn to ribbons with the rocks but otherwise OK and very lucky. Take care in mountains and never underestimate any aspect of them summer or winter.
