My doctor wanted to put me on cholesterol medication. I said no. That was in 1992. I am 83 still going strong. Take no medication of any kind. Haven’t had the flu since 1983. Thought I was going to die. Did not go to the doctor. I doctor myself the way my mother did in the 30’s.

My doctor put me on Ramipril and Bisoprolol for high blood pressure which I took for over two years. Later I was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic. I was offered Statins and after some research I politely refused. To cut a long story short, my research indicated diet plays a very important part in one's health. I took the plunge and totally dropped my consumption of carbohydrates and sugars. I changed my diet to sardines, lambs liver, chuck steak, chicken thighs, pork belly strips, 20% fat ground beef, bacon, eggs and butter. No vegetables and no fruit. Within 90 days of my new "diet" my weight went from 88Kgs down to 76kg, my BMI dropped into the normal range, my belly fat and "male boobs" disappeared, I am no longer on any pharmaceutical drugs, my blood pressure is now in the normal range and I am no longer pre-diabetic.

As for me, I just use my intuition and common sense. I try not to take anything if I can help it, even though I have a level of autism and sometimes extreme anxiety, I am 68 yrs. and in pretty good health. But you know, life just ain't easy. Healthy is always best.

Statins may be the no 1. Since cholesterol treatments came on line, dementia has become more rampant.

Any cholesterol med will. It's been proven but hey, let's keep writing those prescriptions.

Very informative material, I agree with most of the conclusions except hormonal contraceptives being one of the medications causing dementia.

I had one of my doctors to explain to me when I went to him and told him that my memory was getting worse. He asked me to show him all my medication’s from each doctors. And he looked at me and said this one lower it, or discontinue speak to you heart doctor about it. It was my cholesterol medication. He explained was it’s to help with the fatty in the body to release it to help the heart, but the pill does not know the difference between the fatness of the system or the brain, so it also takes with around the brain which protects my memory. So I lowered it. It got better so I discontinued it and change the way I ate instead

I was on a progesteron med for a few years due to an early hysterectomy which led to early menopause..a lump was found in one of my breasts, which fortunately, they caught in time and that was the end of me being prescribed those. The Docs tried pushing a statin on me, I said no way and looked for an alternative. Several pills you mention have been prescribed for me and thankfully I decided against them. Very interesting video and the references to the statin had me thinking on my deceased husband, he took those, he became very agitated toward the end and bad tempered, I had always thought it could be the statin as he was a very gentle person by nature.

Recommendation not to cook - or wrap - food in aluminum.
And best to avoid using tap water...even to boil pasta. (I have used only distilled water for years).
Btw: the herbal capsules of bacopa are helpful to sharpen one's focus.
Best regards only ✨

Could it be that lack of adequate nutrition and exercise. Plus too much sugar causes cognitive decline? And oh by the way, people are also taking these medications?
