GBA and 3ds are a perfect combo. GBA is backwards compatible with Game Boy and 3ds is backwards compatible with the DS. So that covers you over 4 different generation of games.

Tip for folks wanting to play Game Boy [Color] games: pick up a Game Boy Advance SP instead of a Game Boy Color because they’re fully compatible & it has a BACKLIT screen! Those unlit screens are a pain to see & the colors don’t POP as much.
