This is fascinating. As someone who has ADD and struggled with math my entire life, I was able to learn this and perfect it from this one video because I’m a visual learner. You’re a great teacher, wish I would have had a math teacher like you back when I was in school ❤️

Hi! This is interesting. However, I think that you could improve the algorithm by combining simple one-digit multiplications that most children learn by heart. Even in Sweden, we do this. In the last example, instead of carefully count every 63 intersections in one "bubble", we write 7 x 9 = 63.

What if you had a 3 digit number, also are you gonna draw 9 lines if the number was like 99×99

Japanese math is with less lines in the math you are doing. This can be helpful in some cases but not proper way. Some Japanese math can be with more lines but carrying a number over and adding on to your smaller circles before adding it to your final answer.

but if you have a whiteboard and a marker/pencil, its not any different than just doing it the regular way
the real trick is doing it in your head,
012
013

in your head -> 2x3=6, 2+3 = 5, 1x1 = 1
of course i started with the 1's column first, so just reverse, 156
