How to build a super simple electric motor

In this video, I will show you how to make a very simple electric motor. You will need the following materials:
- Magnet wire (copper wire with an outer coating)
- D-Cell battery
- 2 paper clips (bare metal)
- Tape
- A magnet (come on, you can find a magnet somewhere)

Another video did this experiment with both sides completely sanded. I just tried it, and it worked some of the time. I think the wire vibration in the end loop can occur at a frequency which provides intermittent electrical contact. Even when it didn't spin and stayed still, you can feel the Lorentz force. You might want to try it.

Not perfect but simple (as you said). Appreciate your effort, thank you very much. I gonna look for leftovers to obtain a similar experiment. I also want to measure rpm with a tachometer that I simply use my cell phone as it. Actually, I have came here for anemometer which I would build mine.

Is Enameled Copper Wire Magnet Winding Wire 0.1mm Thickness 12m Length fine?
