Building a first plane I love how little accurate it needs to be, thanks for giving me a confidence boost.

Thank you so much, you are an inspiration to get my friend and I started on the hobby!

I like the 30 minute build anyone can do.👍

Most YouTubers spend 40 hours making a design, CNC cutting components from carbon fiber, installing 3-D printed parts, and doing all sorts of crazy electronic control systems and data recorders.

I like this project because I could do it this weekend if I wanted to. It might even take me three hours.

Wow it flew so so well!! Can you make a video for complete beginners, where you explain measurements or sizing, materials and where to get them, and how the electronics operate etc?

well, ive wanted to build an rc plane since i was 13 watching FliteTest. 11 years later I finally ordered the parts to make my first one thanks to this video

Thanks for showing another down and not so dirty DIY foam plane.

Bro, I built this plane and with a little tweaking of the design it flew like a charm

bought all the foam and glue going to build it tomorrow praying for the best results (this is my first build, i own a simple cub s2)

Thats exactly what I did. 2 sheets of foamboard ($2 a pop) hot glue and cellophane tape.
Its sure beats the crap out paying $100 for a piece of shit only to crash it 20 minutes later. I made dozens of them. I should make a video too.
Good video 👍

I bought a real expensive RC plane 8 years ago - Piper Cub as I always wanted a RC plane but could never afford one. I DO NOT want to fly that one as I have never flown a RC plane. So this could be a great way to learn - if you crash it within 10 seconds no loss at all. BTW I am 67.... time to start working on that (cheap) bucket list....

Where do you put the connections on the transmitter so that the remote control can receive it?

How did you learn all of this stuff did you start out reading books or watching videos or did you have a mentor or whatnot?

This is exactly how I been making mine for years even a few years before flite test existed. I was making foam board rc planes when I was 10 in 2002. Now it's easier because we have access to really cheap smaller lighter electronics and motors . Building a plane when I was 10 consisted of balsa and plans back in 2002 cuse foam planes was junk and not to great like we have now in arf abd rtf planes. So of you wanted a good sturdy abd great flying trainer back then we had to build them with balsa then get someone on a buddy box to teach you to fly cuse all this gyro stuff abd stabilizers didn't exist so only way to learn was either buddy box with a 40 to 50 inch wingspan trainer plane or learn on your own abd crash and spend another month building another plane. I'm 30 years old now and love being g able to build a quick trainer plane in matter of a hour or two or all the balsa arfs thats out now and all the beautiful amazing foam scale looking planes that's out now is amazing. Cost of learning to fly is about a quarter of what it use to cost when I was learning in 02 at age of ten. Dad bought ne 5 trainer balsa kits abd we built all of them except one abd after I crashed the third one I was able to fly on my own with no problems. And no my dad was not a rc plane pilot when I was learning we learned together. I still fly way better then he does. But he is really good at building and has 52 balsa planes built abd ready to fly hanging on walls and ceilings of our climate controlled work shop om his back yard that is the size of a 5 car shop. Abd still building he us. He has built every balsa kit off of bang good and I have flown all of then atleasy once and they all fly perfect like they are on rails. They are laser cut no plans to build onto of cuse they jig together tightly then then you glue it. The instructions suck but not to hard to figure out andnqorth it cuse theybfly nicely

Gonna try this, but I agree we need a complete beginner vid with dimension basics and wiring.

Awesome project! My son will be thrilled to build one. What did you use for onboard video? Any recommendations for simple live video feed?

Balsa is alot more durable than one who never built on would think, even good flying ones will occasionally hit hard, and surprisingly it takes a REALLY hard hit to damage them. Balsa is weak, but once constructed and covered, its pretty strong and very rewarding once done. I reccommend it for any airplane enthusiast.

thank you for putting the links in the vid. but can you make a video that you show how long every part is?
