Best Beginner Hardtail Mountain Bike?

Marin have really upped their game in the last few years. Borrowed a friends Rift Zone for a couple of weeks and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it rode.

When I started with mtb my first bike was a Canyon Stoic 2.
It is pretty old but I love it!

Love my Polygon Xtrada 6 2x11. Best hardtail and it’s my do it all Bike. I ride off-road on it, ride gravel, and commute to work. Love the 2x drive train because it’s got all of the gears I need.

Trek Marlin 8 is an amazing beginner bike IF you're looking to get into XC racing. The bottom bracket is it's weak point. Other than that the fork, brakes, tires and drivetrain are all great. 👍👍

In canada, the marins dont seem to be as much as a value. I was so attracted to the Rocky Mountain growler 20, especially when you can get brand new last year models discounted for $1250cad or so (wouldnt pay the $1599.99) I havent paid full price for a bike in a long time a typically wait for them to go on sale, however the new roscoe 6 got released for the same price as last years model, however it now has the upgraded frame from the 7, 8, and 9 roscoe, so i bought that at full price for $1449.99+taxes cad, and yah its got a 1x9 drivetrain, but it also has an air fork, which the growler 20 does not have, so ill take that over an extra cog anyday, oh and its got a 203mm rotor upfront🤯I plan on building it up into a custom bike, so im super happy with the purchase. I have a feeling the roscoe 6 will go up in price next year when the old ones are all gone.

trek Roscoe 7 mid fatbijke. heavy but you can rag it around and it just keeps going.
