Pick Up HUGE ICE BLOCK With Just Rope

We actually tried this experiment way back when and it didn’t work out. The reason was that our ice block was not actually IN water.
This experiment is a classic one. Sprinkle some salt on ice with a string on the ice and the salt lowers the freezing point of the ice (melting it) and as the salts water washes away the ice underneath refreezes the freshwater that replaced it, including the water in and around the rope!
The result a d frozen rope to an ice chunk… and our tests show its scalable!!!
