You can increase max budget of docks so ships come in faster you gain money faster then put inventor there much more effective than corn farm at normal budget. Also most profitable of ranches is Cattle not pigs. It'll fertilize your corn farm, put cattle ranch near farm. triple the profit now of corn farm

Brilliant videos! i know it's an old game but i've just bought it and this helps a lot.

Sometimes as a newbie it's hard understanding all the game mechanics.

By the way, I’m so glad you have a good voice. I hate when I look up a Let’s Play or a tips video and the person has an awful voice. Helpful video.

I usually spare the mines until i can make stuff from it. It makes hard the early game, but makes wonders after that. I also figured out that ranches uses not just the place they are on but the place around them. If you place ranches far from each other they degrate slow enough that they are still above 90 in modern times (with the normal budget).

5 years later: just picked up this game cheap. Can't afford Tropico 6, so trying this. Thanks for a good guide for some one who knows nothing about Tropico. Well explained.

I actually find that if you want to keep your farms working with good production is to space them 14 tiles apart, you're quality seems to either replenish at the same rate your animals kill it. I usually put down 1 cattle, 2 pigs, 2 goats, and 3 lama in order to get your bases covered, 3 resources for your cheese mill, and 3 wool for clothing plants..

I started to play Tropico 5 several weeks ago. Many of the crucial mechanics are not explained in the tutorial, so I failed at my first campaign. I´ve been improving since then but I´m still looking for good tutorials. This one looks very promising, I´m looking forward to the next parts.

I never purchased thsi game but it just came out on PS4 as a free game for PS+ subscribers. downloaded it and I'm completly lost. gonna watch this series, your channel was the first one I thought of when learning a simulation game.

I think you could have saved some room by building the pig farms horizontally, instead of it being parallel with/on the road. At least 2-3 could have fit. 

Are the resources you mentioned/built the most profitable by trade as well? I check the trade contracts to see the values before I settle in on production. Are the efficiency upgrades for the ones you built compensating for the prices? Will you have enough ports for all those logs, meat, and cocoa to be efficient? So many questions! 

Congrats on finishing campaign. I am a few episodes behind so I will catch up over the weekend. Looking forward to what you do here.

Hey mate! Great one! Played Tropico 4! Liked it & up for “5”. In fact I always build around four or five construction building at the staring of the game. Especially far from each other! It is very effective when you looking to grow your city fast.
