1) The Jedi were originally know as the Jed’aii and originated on the planet tython

2) The order was comprised of various species, with force sensitives being brought to tython by the mysterious pyramid ships the Tho Yor.

3) Tython was incredibly sensitive to the force with any imbalances leading to storms and earthquakes.

4) The Jedaii would repell an invasion by the darkside wielding race known as the Rakata, using one of the Tho Yor to destroy many Rakatan ships.

5) After a civil war between the followers of the darkside known as Bogan and followrs of the light known as Ashla, the Jedi would renounce any use of the darkside, creating the Jedi order.
