They tried to make Kizuna Ai into some kind of character property like with Marvel and DC do ith their heroes and forget that it's the voice and the person behind the avatar is what matters. At least, Star War is smart enough that they use A.I voice of James Earl Jones to replicate Vader voice instead of casting for a different V.A

Luckily they only talk about it in the after-credit segment and simply give a pretty basic explanation on what NFTs are to begin with.

The actual plot of the episode thankfully doesn’t involve those things in any sort of way. Doesn’t make the bare bones and run-by-the-numbers plot much better, though.

NFT situation in Japan is somehow different from West, that why all of big agency like Square enix aim for NFT.
And let's me correct you guys, Kizuna Ai company never sell single one NFT, they did have collab with NFT in the past but it already end in 2020, since then they never doing anything relate with NFT. This fuss is just from one scene of anime where Main character explain about the name of NFT... that all. People need to stop dramatic and do properly research before believe in anything so fast and spread a misinformation, you guys gonna hurt Kizuna Ai's fame more because of that

Anyway, don't worry folks. NFTs aren't going away. Even though no one cares about them they're still gonna be with us for a while thanks to companies like SquareEnix.

Kizuna Ai becoming a mascot of a company and not staying as just a normal vtuber idol was the beginning of the end. When a dozen people play her and all her content feels produced by a boardroom, the charm it once had disappeared.

It sucks because she got me into vtubers. I watched Gen 3 of Hololive clips soon after they debuted because i had been watching Kizuna Ai things. I hope the original girl for the character is doing well. It's been well over 2 years since I've kept up with Kizuna Ai.

To me, Kizuna AI stands for everything that is wrong with Vtubing. Rampant commercialization, total sell out, formulaic, soulless entertainment with no heart behind it, exploitation of parasocial fans.
Vtubers have always been about connections for me. Connections between Vtubers, connections betweeen Vtubers and the fandom, Connections between, fan creators and Vtubers, and connction within those communities. The bread and butter of Vtubing is the personalities and humanity of the Vtubers shining through their constructed personality and beautifully crafted faces.
Watching Vtubers slowly become themselves after their debuts, especially those who didn'T have much experience streaming before, is one of the most satisfying things to do.
But Kizuna AI? Heck, she hasn't even been a person for quite some time. She has been 3 different people. That alone goes to show how little care they have for the actual person behind the avatar.
