Besides, it was smart- they get one more year to get noticed for the 2024 draft and let’s face it, coming off an undefeated season and title win looks better than losing in the playoffs. Let's assume the $135, 000 was only split amongst those 5. That's $27, 000 apiece, vs a league minimum of $750, 000 in the NFL, which exactly none of them would have made after the draft.
