There should really be a ballon d oro for each position at the end of every year imo. How GK’s and defenders are left out is just mind boggling considering how important they are. Rodri was knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, knocked out of the FA Cup Final by Manchester United, Spain won the Euros Final WITHOUT him, he wasn't even nominated for Premier League player of the season. Vini Jr. or Carvajal clearly deserved it, both scored in the Champions League Final and Carvajal won the Euros

Im happy to see that Rodri's role is not being overlooked as much as it has been anymore but a better way for these ballond'or ceremonies to take is to give 5 awards every year, 1 for the best forward, 1 for the best midfielder, one for the best defender, 1 for the best goalkeeper and one last one for the best manager, rather than just clumping all footballers into one category, and since we are the fans let us make our voices heard and bring this suggestion up.
