I’ve never been to NY but I had Italian Grandparents that would make pizza from scratch & used to own an Italian restaurant.
I also grew up in South FL (where there’s a lot of former New Yorkers) & there was a pizza shop right by my house. I used to love stopping there after school for a slice & soda. Pizza looked just like this

At my university, they’re quite student-friendly with the prices for food. They do this pizza truck from 11am-2pm, and a whole margherita pizza is £5, which works out at about $6.07. Plus, the pizza is quite thick and is absolutely delicious for a tiny ass pizza truck.

They do have $1 pizza at opposite of Washington Heights I think over there you can get one dollar pizza but everywhere else it’s like $1.50 for slice of pizza

Rewind a Little Italy in the Bronx for years since I was five and the pieces there is delicious it's a little extra money but it's worth the pay for God bless the Italians when they do it
