My Grandma was diagnosed with terminal cancer and told she had 4 years to live. Almost 12 years later she's still alive and receives medication which was only being trialled when she was diagnosed. She remembers reading about this medication a few weeks after getting her news and remembers the feeling of dispare that she would die before it was available to her. 12 years later she now receives that very medication, has seen many grandchildren & great grandchildren be born and has experienced so much life and joy. I see how the 6 month boundary could benefit so many people in extreme pain and agree that its their choice. Yet once that boundary slowly becomes bigger and is opened up to more people, I fear people like my grandma would take the option to die and not live to see the new life they could have instead.
