Mormon Temple: Law of Consecration (filmed w/ hidden camera)

This is without a doubt the number one reason why Mitt Romney shouldn't be President. It is an oath that all Mormons who go through the temple endowment ceremony are required to take. It's called the "Law of Consecration."

Former Mormon Apostle, Bruce R. McConkie, stated that "[t]he law of consecration is that we consecrate our time, our talents, and our money and property to the cause of the Church: such are to be available to the extent they are needed to further the Lord's interests on earth."

No sitting President should ever be under such an obligation to ANY organization, religious or otherwise. Mitt Romney has sworn to obey this oath countless times. Probably well over 100 times.

The wording of the oath is as follows:

Each of you bring your right arm to the square.

You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the law of consecration as contained in this, the book of Doctrine and Covenants [he displays the book], in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion.
Each of you bow your head and say, "Yes."

That will do.

As an ex-Mormon who has participated in this ritual many times, I can vouch that this is authentic or a very very faithful reproduction.

These videos are to educate potential converts to the Mormon cult. These videos contain information that is virtually NEVER shared with people investigating Mormonism. Let's face, who in their right mind would JOIN Mormonism after seeing this bat shit crazy stuff?

btw, Sandra Tanner spoke about this not too long ago. She was saying that the church is having a pretty rough time getting going in Japan. The missionaries go door to door, but by the time they go back to start studying with a possible convert, the people have checked out the church on the web, find out the truth, and are no longer interested. It's stuff like what you've posted that help people make an informed decision!

Camulus777, I rarely do this but I'm banning you. You're so unbelievably ignorant of basic facts about EVERYTHING that I just can't handle the stupidity any longer. Polygamy was NOT common or legal in the 1830's ANYWHERE in the United States. It was NOT "common" for 14 year old girls to get married back then. And for Gods sake, please stop talking about your "Steak" President. Idiot!

My brother and his family are Mormons. When my mother died and was buried he and his family consecrated her grave. Nothing anybody, especially Mormons, do can save anyone. My mother never became a Christian. She was one of those "I have always been one" when asked if she was a Christian. She did not even know what being born again meant.

When I "swore" the oath of consecration I said: "Yes, " and then under my breath, "if it's true."
In Spanish I didn't have to do so under my breath, for "Sí, si es verdad, " has the double meaning of "Yes, yes it's true, " and "Yes, if it's true."

I banned you for stating your completely wrong and twisted view of history as FACTS. Polygamy was NOT legal anywhere in the United States in the 1830's. It was NOT "common" for 14 year old girls to get married back then and CERTAINLY not marrying 40 year old men who were already married. I don't tolerate lies to rationalize statutory rape in my comments. Banned.

I was a Latter-day Saint for many years. This video is spot on. This is exactly what they do in the temple rituals.

I had to ban this "tammibeth say" nut case. Based on his moronic comments about President Obama alone I can tell this one is beyond help.

This is why we are shunned and disowned when we leave the cult! I am nothing more to them then a possession that was promised to that cult and how dare I have the nerve to walk away!

How do people allow themselves to get so deep into a cult like this?

It's kind of like watching the seatbelt demonstration done by the stewardesses before takeoff on a plane, but a religious version.

"...you know that the law of consecration is a spiritual and temporal principle and it is not given to the Church."

Um..you DO realize that every single Mormon that has been through the temple endowment has sworn to obey "the law of consecration", right?

Name ANY other religion that has an ordinance that they believe to be essential to exaltation that has the members swearing to "consecrate" everything they have or ever will have (even "time & talents") to their CHURCH.

Only Mormonism.

Dude, you didn't need to declare you're a member of the cult. 100% of the people who come here and make pissy comments like yours are part of the cult. No RATIONAL person defends this stuff.

FYI, the Book of Mormon refers to ALL OTHER FAITHS collectively as "the great and abominable whore of the earth" and "the church of the devil" so simply showing exactly what Mormons do in their temples kind of pales in comparison.
