Pop cap and wind screen on dynamic mics is a bit over the top

Big difference I heard between the two was clarity. The RE20 gave a much cleaner sound. That said, I think both were muffled by the use of two pop filters.

You're using it wrong. Front address, not side address.

They are designed to be spoken into directly from the front.
You are effectively running three filters which you won't even need when turning the mics so much off axis making it sound extremely muddy and muffled. Add in the very off axis it sounds even worse.
It's far better to learn proper mic technique than fixing a bad one with unnecessary windblockers and tilting.

RE 20 sounds better, but using a pop filter and a foam wind protector makes them both sound kind of muffled, Using them both at the same time is so wrong.

Hello Jeremy. Can you please send me the link for buying the wind screen for that mic arm? I have that same one. Thank you in advance and best regards

Pop filter and windscreen? That’s overkill bro

You must puff out a fair amount of air to require both a pop filter and a windshield!

I have both and they're both great. Buy what you can afford and place the mic in the right spot. Avoid pops by talking at an angle.

1:41 Hearing that already🙄 and using two popfilters instead of just the one for the RE20...

Am I crazy or the Probaste sounded better?

Why would you put a cap on the mic? You only need a pop screen. The cap is killing your high frequencies.
The Rode sounds really awful compared to the Electrovoice.

Uh, they are both front address microphones...

Thanks for the comparison. I don’t know about twice as good, but the RE20 sounds better. Having said that, can the difference be mitigated with EQ? Probably.

Not even close. RE20 sounds great. Rode is thin.

How is the RE20 twice the price? It’s only 50% more expensive vs the procaster. I happen to have both and I would go with the RE20 7 out of 10 times.

The EV is the better mic, no doubt, but the Procaster wasn't really given a chance here. You don't need an enormous wind screen and you really need to be up on it at a better angle.
