Today I continue mowing with the 4630 and 20' batwing mower. I finish mowing over at the River and move into Starke County to mow off the sand dune and start mowing the wheat stubble off.

Werner Farms, established in 1960, is a family farm operation based in rural Hanna, IN. The YouTube channel and social media pages are run by Keith Werner, the third generation of Werner Farms.

Werner Farms currently operates on 1,700 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and rye along with 1,000 acres of custom harvest work. The farm has no-tilled since the early 1980s and continues to increase acres of cover crops year to year. Besides the farm operation, Werner Farms has sold Pioneer Seed since the 1980s. Numerous John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm ranging from a 730 to an 8530.

That is a large mower you have on the tractor and I didn't envy you having to turn around and go a different direction to get to the field you mowed.

Looks so much better with the long grass cut close to the fields and trees

How high can you mow? We have about 600 acres in CRP and need to mow maybe 40%. We use a 145hp 2wd and are going to buy a bigger one like yours. Just hoping we can raise it above the odd rock or 2 sticking up. Either than or have sheer pins that break before anything else and are easily replaced. Looks like you are able to run at least 7mph and that’s important. Thanks

Looking good, Keith! That was indeed a long way to back up, but at least you could fold the mower up to make it easier. Are you going to go back with the proper equipment and get those fallen trees cleaned up, and then finish the mowing there? BTW, what river is that that you were mowing along?
