I couldn't agree more Rob. A picture without a story is like a pretty person without a soul. Thank you for showing us why this is the most important thing about photography. The sincerity, openness, and intentions in your videos make them very unique.

You show yourself not only a photographer but as the person also in this video, and you did it very good. You are very interesting man.

Very good video. You brought up the most important thing in photography, the Story. But it is equally important to know how to photograph that story. It is about to know your gear and how to use it. Beautiful images with minimum gear.

Rob. I watched tons of your videos. I appreciate so much the way that you transmit technicalities, but this video is really one of your best!! It helps me a lot.
Thanks for all your teachings and sharings.

Rob, your authenticity is your genius. Thank you for sharing part of yourself with us. The STORY is so important and it's something that I have not thought of very often. I look forward to visiting my grand kids soon, and I intend to include their favorite things or activities in the images of them. Thank you for uncovering THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.

The picture of you petting your dog is a very beautiful and emotional photograph.

Wow... Great job. Thanks.
I will always be in your debt for your early, kinda clumsy, yet very effective, explanation of the Olympus settings chaos. Because of your patient, straight forward approach, I really understand what my OMD E-10 ii can do. Today I kinda feel like a photographer. I've constantly improved, slowly....

Today, building upon those simple, early instructional videos, you've actually reached a point, with this video, that your on your way to being a filmmaker.

You took it up a notch here on many levels. Congratulations.... Great effort.

Great video! I particularly liked your first two colour hands pictures – just like some of my first attempts at a project which I’m finding hard. The most important lesson is: if your first attempts don’t work, don’t be disheartened, just take a step back and think about what you really want to achieve, then the right path will become clear. You explain this so gracefully!

Spot on, Rob! Over time, I’ve shot more and more “hand” pics that tell a story: clay potter’s hands while he was making a pot, fiddler w/part of his violin and string indentation in his playing finger, elder woman at a loom, kid’s hand petting an animal, etc. Getting to be a theme I enjoy. The image can’t be staged. It has to be genuine in setting and time. Photos of you holding a camera and petting your dog fit this pattern. Camera settings are less important than removing distractions from a frame.

Well that was some video you are just amazing, you go to so much trouble to fathom how to do stuff and then share with us. You look so dapper all dressed up, but then you stay indoors!!!! As in the comment below for some reason this video was emotional to watch. Thank you again for all that you share with us and thank you for sharing your own story - it was much appreciated.
