Bratislava, Slovakia is very lovely city and is only 37 miles from Vienna, Austria.

On our first time in Bratislava, we decided to go on a little tour bus that takes you right round the city and gives you a real feel for the place.

0:03 - Františkánske námestie, just off the Main Square.

0:37 - The Tour Bus.

0:43 - Driver places an English Tour Guide audio into the CD Player!

0:52 - The Main Square, Hlavné námestie. (1:14) Little stalls lined up along the side of the Square.

1:40 - The French army soldier. The French Embassy is behind.

2:04 - The Maximilian fountain.

Don't remember the cars but then I left in 1996 after two years in the British Embassy. Square hasn't changed much. They made a film with George Clooney and Nicole Kidman around the town and the fountain.Went to a music recital in St Martins church. The Embassy was on Panska Ulitca. See my video on You Tube. When to a meeting in the palace with the President, Prime Minister and Ministers of Defence with other embassy nationalities. Many memories

If you are talking about Slovakia, it is not soutrhern Europe... Of course, from swedish perspective almost everything is on south :) but when refering to location of SVK central europe is more accurate.

Pozsony is the original name of this lovely and hystoric city. Now they call it Bratislava, but hystorically belongs to Hungary.
