Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 Review: Stylus and Google AI Features Make The Difference

Tecno's second large foldable brings improved hardware, with stylus support and a whole suite of Google-powered AI features including Circle to Search and Sketch to Image. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ with 7.8-inch 2K folding OLED screen and a 6.4-inch outside display. The cameras are solid, but nothing spectacular. Ultimately this phone's appeal will be its price point and stylus support.

The Oppo Find N3 / OnePlus Open and the Huawei Mate Xs2/X3/X5 also have stylus support in both screens. They're just very bad at advertising it. Look up Huawei M-Pen and Oppo Pen.

If I'm not mistaken the only current-gen book-styles foldables that don't have stylus supportare the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, the Vivo X Fold3, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and (ironically) the outside screen on the Z Fold6.

I think its a good option for a first time foldable. I'm hoping for a push for budget foldables with some of the bells and whistles removed but good battery and software performance for the average consumer

Tecno and Transion Holdings in general have always been pushing for great value for money

2:24 For a $1, 000 foldable phone, the thickness is irrelevant, the thickness is the trade off for a relatively cheap foldable. 4:47 The enablement to jumb to your favorite or most used feature is ideal because it promotes ease of use functionality. I love the ability to get to a specific place from diverse location, jumbing and skipping over long and tedious process.

Huawei needs to be applauded that they can innovate to this level in complete isolation, I still say if it wasn't for the ridiculous US bann Huawei would be the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world.

One Plus Open has stylus support. I have the stylus. Works great. It has stylus support on the front screen and inner screen. Samsung only supports the inner screen.
